They put a windshield in my 84 for like $135! His helper wasn't there so I helped, but still...

Nice! So op I was gonna say (before we get in trouble) if it shifts solid through all the gears and is a nice Xj and you have decent wrench skills go for it.

tranny not shiffting

ok i put new shiffting soinoids on my 95 cherokee and it still will not shift automaticaly or manually its got plenty of fluid and it will not shift (shifts 4500)rpms just lost need sugestions

Jeep not shifting

I’m also having a similar problem with my 99 xj I’ve replaced the solenoids the tps filter fluid 3 times and output speed sensor still will not shift into 3rd I’ve disconnected tcm and cannot manually shift out of first please help fellow xj fanatics 😅

With the TCM disconnected, there is no 1-2 shift, from what ive read. It will shift into 2nd on its own, but it wont do it until about 4-4500 rpm or so. If it doesnt shift into 3rd by then with the TCM disconnected, you have mechanical issues with the transmission.
