Default Auto Shutdown RELAY!!!!

It keeps popping the 30 amp fuse that is related only to that relay. Sometimes, it will start and idle. Then when i go to drive it, after about 40-50ft it will pop that fuse and die. And sometimes it will pop the fuse right when i go to turn the key to crank the engine over.

Some people have said it could be a short at the fuel pump, a bad voltage regulator off the alternator, maybe sending too much juice?? or a bad ignition switch...
I need to go and check the 02 sensors

The car seems to idle forever, if i can get it started.
Sometimes if i rev the hell outta the engine it will pop the fuse and die, at a high rpm. When im driving and it pops the fuse, im usually only doing 10-20 mph, low rpm basically just idling.

One time we had it just sitting there idling and i opened the door and grabbed the roof rack and stood on the rocker and shook the hell out of the entire jeep, and after about 20-30 seconds of really shaking it good, i got it to pop the fuse..

Another time, it was idling fine, i was reving the engine really good. wasnt poping the fuse. I put my foot on the brake and put it in drive and slowly pushed on the gas pedal until one of the rear tires broke loose. Thought it was fine. Got 50ft out of autozones parking lot and it popped the fuse AGAIN!!!

A couple times when it was just idling i went and pounded and shook all of the engine bay compartments heat shielded wire harness areas. couldn't get it to pop the fuse.

Sometimes when it die and i put a new fuse in and i go to turn the key to crank, i get nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, and then crank. but its not a bad batt connection, b/c the dash lights and radio flash/come on.. I guess that could mean a bad starter/solenoid or a bad ignition switch in the steering column.


Im tired of buying fuses, and im still 4 hrs from home... anyone with any other ideas? I'm at the local library right now..
I have my iphone charged up, so i can check back to the thread periodically.

the only 30 amp fuse in 88 is for power windows
