Default Auto shifter handlle adjustment?

This is regarding my '89 XJ with the AW4. The shifter sometimes needs to be wiggled back and forth a bit to "lock" into park or drive. It appears to be due to worn bushings on the assembly. Is there any adjustment for it? (Mine appears to be all riveted together, so I cant see any adjustment.) Thanks all.

I don't know...don't see it talked about. I just wanted to mention if the engine mounts are shot and it's moved forward a bit, that might cause issues with the transfer case linkage. (does mine!)

Your problem with drive, (in the middle), almost surely couldn't be that....
