Hi i have a manual diesel 5 speed manual cherokee gearbox do these fit onto the 4.0 petrol so i can convert to manual?

No. No, they dont interchange. Well, I guees they would with a adaptor from Advance Adaptors, but the that AX5 wont hold up for long with the 4.0s torque. The AX5 5 speed was put behind the 2.5 Diesel. The 4.0 needs a AX15 or NV3550 5 speed.
Uhhh you thinking of the 2.1 maybe? The 2.5L TD puts out the same torque as the 4.0L. 100% late model TD XJs were AX-15s.

Yes the 2.1 Renault TD used the AX5 behind it, but so did the VM 2.5TD. Ive never seen a 97thru01(really99 for the Diesel) with a AX15.
