Have been told that ring gear thickness determines if crossshaft can be removed with out removing the carrier. Seems like I hear there is a gear ratio spread where you don't have to remove carrier. 3.07 did not .373 had to. 3.55s nobody said.. Is there any solid facts about what ratios you need to remove the carrier, I searched high and low for this and couldn't find anything. Yea yea I know go pop the cover and see but that isn't really a option right now.

 

The only thing I can say is to take the cover off and see.

 

Didn't have to on my 4.56s but you do with 3.55s. Not sure about other ratios.

 

Ok thanks, guess I will just be prepared to pull the carrier.

 

just did a buddies a couple weeks ago. we didnt take the carrier out
