3.5" short arm lift:
-pricey
-not even what id want- 4.5" LA
-i dont wheel that hard
-my 2" BB is ok... obviously not real a lift! i know...
aussie locker:
-like $300, not shipped/installed
-can utilize the benifits of locker in every day driving... its vermont, the roads SUCK...
-one day install, no down time, as shes my DD

if you don't wheel hard enough to need the other lift, yours is fine for now, I would go for the locker. I went lift first but i also have the track-loc, which sucks but it works most of the time.

I installed My front lockright in 3 hours and have never done it before. lockers will get you further then a lift will no doubt. Shop around I spent 3 weeks shopping used ads, craigslist, and ebay. Finally I found one NIB on the bay and won it for $200

right, rear first- more predictable acceleration, etc. i like what im hearing, i feel like the lockers are truly more beneficial to the kind of driving i do. i also work with kids in states custody so its nice knowing ive got a rig that will deff. get me there. unfortunately my TC is in rough shape and needs a rebuild. i figure that its really my best bet at this point. i cant find a used 242, or even a 231 for any price.... its the chain thats stretched in there and even though the 4wd will work, is has a terrible noise above like 5mph. any thoughts on what a good option is here? i gotta take care of this before anything else... thanks.

What rear axle do you have? Putting a locker in a 35 would be meh. Kinda like polishing a turd.
If you already have an 8.25 then lock it. If not then get one, lock it and swap it in.
