In all, it's the look on the road and the look when u look into the beam. Either one is great to use. Just look at the prices. And when you get HID's, try to find someone with the look you want. I think I got the 6k. I can't remember. They are great in dark areas. You might have to get a relay for them. Some jeeps can't see the voltage and will give you the annoying problems. You can make your own, it's very very simple. Just don't use those plastic splices with the metal clip that taps the light. I had two overheat and almost melt. Anything else will work great. If you need a wiring diagram, I think I still have the one I used.

Can you throw a pic up on the plastic splices, just so I know exactly which style you are taking about? please and thank you.

As for the wiring diagram, I just posted a second hand schematic /diagram I found and a parts list to do the job. but thanks for the offer.

I have learned a TON from this thread and some of the links posted. I went from know how to replace stock headlights to know how to wire up extra juice and about the different style headlamps available.

I dont know why people have problem blinding on coming drivers, I have my stock sealed units pointed down and to the right and it gives me perfect road and ditch coverage to watch for deers. I do a lot of country driving...

Because a lot of the cheap aftermarket ebay housings don't have a focused reflector or a good cutoff point. Most of them scatter the light instead of focusing it on the road ahead

I have this kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H6054...ht_4516wt_1115

I had these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7x6-H...ht_5175wt_1115

and the ones without the projection or the above.

They all work great. The projection is a focused on the road. But if you are in wooded areas and cant see most of the road, the one without anything blocking them will work. If you need them for road, use the projected. But the one with the cone looking thing is also great, but doesn't look good.

This is the wiring setup I used for my HID. There are many different ones, but this one is basic. If you need the other setups, leave me a message and I will try to get to it as soon as I can.

With installing HID’s of any brand with most Jeeps, this will work without having to add more than you need. There are many different points you can have as a switch or trigger, in this post we will keep it centered on the intended device and triggers.

After installing the HID in the aftermarket headlamp housing, connect the red and black pigtails to the Ballast pack. The other 9006 connector will be spliced to the steps below.

-Run a red wire from the battery or fuse block with a inline fuse. I believe a 20 will be enough. This will help from burning out the relay or the ballast packs and bulbs. Minimizes the chances of a fire or spark.

-On the other side of the inline fuse, connect it to the 30 on the relay. This is your hot wire. Remove the fuse until after the completed wiring.

-The red wire from the 9006 harness will be connected to 87. This is the connector that connects to the ballast pack’s two prong socket.

-85 will be the ground. If you want to, tie it into the black wire on 9006 connector and then to a ground source on the car. If not, connect 85 to a ground on the car and the black wire to a ground on the car.

-86 is the switch. This can be connected to a switch mounted on the dash or spliced into the headlamp switch at the connector for the old beam.

-87A (on the 5 pin relay). This is a constant hot, until 86 is switched on. This is great for adding other lights like daytime running lights or with a second relay and connected at 30. That will be the power or hot for the second relay.

After all connections, if you do not have the socket for the relay, I suggest using tape or the connectors with the plastic covers. Once everything is taped and the relay is mounted, plug the fuse in and operate the lights.

I just got the projectors today. There are 2 wires attached to a blue bulb inside the housing. Where do I connect those?

The two 194LL bulbs.... I think they are 194LL... same as the map lights. I connected mine to the LED that come on with the ignition, via a relay used for the HID. if you wire the HID with a 5 pin relay, use the center terminal or 87A. That goes out when the HIDs are switched on.

Thanks!

The H4 bulbs the projectors came with are ridiculously dim compared to the stock 6054 bulbs I had previously. Gotta get some HIDs soon!

How are those working for you? I had 5 cars since November have the ballasts changed. The overheat. You have to screw them down to metal. I'll get the name and model of the one I have. But look them up. There are Chinese, Japanese and others. I think I have the Japanese one with the fat ballast pack. With my bad eyes, there is a bad glare on dark road and rain combo. Like driving in fog. Well, the version I have. I forgot the K.

If u look at all of them, it's equals the same price for that type. I gave it as an example. But it depends on how they list them. Just look through the list.

When installing just regular H4 bulbs is there any other wiring that needs to be done? The kit I bought came with 2 extra harnesses but I don't know where to connect them.

I would think H4 bulbs would be way brighter than Sylvania Halogens.

Thanks!
