8.25,it appears,it is square on the bottom of the carrier,and axle tubes should be 3",if they are 2-3/4" it is a D35

Chrysler 8.25 should be 29 spine axles ...good setup

Yep, thats an 8.25. You can tell by the fact the the housing is flat at the top and bottom as opposed to the D35 which is rounded all the way around. And if it were the D35, the fill plug would have the Dana logo on it.

funny my rear axle looks the same both same model and the huge oil spot from the leaking diff gotta love a vehicle that marks its territory

Those rubber butt plugs tend to harden and crack after a few years. Get several next time you go in to the dealer to get ones to replace what you have.

They went to those because they're cheap - but give be a brass 1/2"NPT pipe plug any day!

i've got the same axle in the rear of my XJ its a strong axle...just get a locker for it and you're golden!
