My jeep won't start, it's not getting spark for some reason, and it isn't the cps. Anyways, I found this plug dangling in the engine bay, could this be the source of my problems? It's located near the firewall where the transmission connectors connect to the engine harness. Thanks!

Not on that side of the engine for one.

And O2 sensor has more wires. Probably underhood light connector. Ain't the cause of a no-start no matter what.

idk,,looks a little big to be an under hood light. But your probably right about having nothing to do with his problem.

What year is this XJ?

How many wires going to the connector?

What color(s) are the wire(s)?

Edit: Looks like a few mods have been done. That relay hanging there for instance. Maybe that connector went to a mod.

the mods are all done by me and the only wiring is for a light bar and a subwoofer so I don't think it's anything I've done. Anyways it's a 2000 xj and I believe there are 4 wires and I'm unsure of the colors. I'll check when I get home.

It looks like a connector for the alternator. Will it reach there?
Also, what year, engine, sub-model, et cetera is this?

Looks like the oil pressure switch connector on my 97. Same side and location, size, color and shape. I looked around and didnt find any extra connectors hanging nearby. Looking back at the OPs opening post, it doesnt appear his oil pressure switch was connected.
