That's a whole 'nother can of worms...
Pics? I'd say save the axle you have. You never know what you're getting into with a junkyard axle, and D30's are becoming less disposable as time goes on...I say fix what you got. Find a reputable welder who can fix that up for ya if you're not capable of it. And take care of the rest of the axle so it doesn't get like that.

Keep in mind that that mount is a complex structure and is tied to the lower control arm mount bracket. A simple box structure may not hack it.
Any weldment on top of a previous weldment is weak and is prone to crack. Ask your welder what he thinks about doing this. Any welder worth his salt may not do it. Of course, to do a good job, you'll have to pull the axle, disassemble it, remove the old mount(s), then sand blast the area to be welded.
Inspect your entire front axle for heavy corrosion, especially the track bar bracket welded to the axle tube.
Inspect your entire unibody for corrosion. The frame rails are the bain of the XJ; when they're gone, the Heep is gone. Point is: Do you want to go through all the front axle work and have an ate up undercarriage? It could be like putting lace curtains on a pig's ****.

I would agree with you completely on trashing it and finding another one BUT i cant. This Jeep is the only thing I have from my dad. I received his project after he passed. It HAS to be fixed.
UPDATE..... So I guess I was wrong. Both sides are rusted out. -_- I do not have 3500 for a new dana 30. I did some research all day and found 1 dana 30 from an xj that was totaled in the rear end. Mounts look almost as bad. Sadly I cant leave it in pieces for long cause next month it will be my daily driver for the winter.
Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Don't buy a brand new Dana 30.
If you have that kind of money, do this:

Wow.
I strongly suggest taking a step back, and taking a breather.
If this is that serious of a project to you do some good research and explore your options. No offense, If your best idea was to go to a dana distributor for a brand new XJ d30 you have some things out of order.

Actually I said it wrong. Yes it cost 3500 But I was actually researching a dana 44 front. That comes with this.....
http://www.crateaxle.com/products/dana-44-axles#
but thats just the front.
Edit: It also comes with the mounts..... They custom build them to fit it.
