I do it for all of the lights on my jeep, even the headlights.

Just use a few coats of black primer from a spray can. Trust me, it'll work out just great.

I did mine with VHT Nightshades, almost exactly like Teal did. It was very easy to do, and made a nice visual touch for the XJ.

I don't know about the legality down here in FL, but I do know we have some of the most relaxed motor vehicle laws, and even more lax vehicle equipment law enforcement so I'm not too worried about it. The bumper hieght laws here are little more than a joke with sky high trucks running around all over the place, same story with fender coverage laws and exhaust laws. Unless you are driving an import of course, the cops hate those cars and enforce the lwas on them very tightly, but this is a great county to own a domestic truck or suv in, the cops just leave you alone!

Quote: To almost quote someone famous: "If its too dark, your too old"
How about someone not famous at all, me: "If it's too dark, you're asking to cause an accident."? Words of experience, not "because I like it".

In UT and for UT plated vehicles, if your tint on your windows is too dark, you remove it or get fined, big fine ... and the cops carry testers.

My concern is also for the officers that might pull someone over for speeding and not see the gun on the driver's lap until too late .. which has happened too often.

Without dark tints, officers could see someone going for a gun or acting suspicious.
