i got mine a few days ago and finally got around to installing them or should i say attempting to. i tried to get them to fit and it just wasnt happening. i had a little more tan a 1/2 inch gap between where the pinch seam in the xj bolts to the slider. they provide a shim thats about 1/4 thick. i called them and they said just bolt it together and it will all suck together when its all said and done. am i missing something? how is a welded piece of metal going to move 1/4 inch? the pinch seam is pretty damn strong as well so i see bolts breaking before anything else. also the holes drilled in the sliders dont line up with the pinch seam. seems like they are sloping down. in other words if i drilled the hole in the back it would be flush with the body but at the front end of the slider it only meets up 3/4 of the the hole. anyone else have any problems with that?

The piece on the slider that bolts to the pinch seam will pull up. The pinch seam will deflect also. Get it positioned where you want it w/ jack. Then either use a pair of channel locks or vise-grips to clamp them together and mark and drill the holes.
You will have to fight it a little but they're worth it. Mine have had several HARD hits. The the stage 2's can save you from some trees too.

Here is what We did when installing our sliders. We did mine and Chris' the same way and as you can see in the picture they are quite tight to the body. Take a couple of the nuts that come with your sliders, to bolt them to the pinch seam. Put the nuts along top of the main slider bar and take two floor jacks and jack the slider up tight to the body. The nuts act as the perfect spacer between the slider and the rocker panel. Drill your holes along the pinch seam and in the unibody framerail and bolt them up with the provided hardware. That is exactly what the instructions from JCR said to do and it worked perfect for us. I hope this and my awesome pics help.

ok thanks everyone i will give it a shot and see how it goes. did yall have about a 1/2 inch gap between the the flat stock piece and the pinch seam also?
got my sliders on today. had to ream out some holes and made some spacers to make it work but there on there and they look great. goin wheeling on sunday so im sure i will test them out then. thanks for the help
