Anyone come up with a homemade solution to the...
....problem with the segmented plastic which moves with the A/T shifter breaking?
I realize the plastic in this pic is NOT broken but it's the only pic I could find. I'm tired of the gap in front and back of the shifter.

I think the only solution is to buy a new piece from the dealership, can anyone describe how you remove the T-handle from the shifter?
I can't find what's holding it on.

Those are push-button T-handles though, which unlock the shifter. Just curious how that hooks up. They just pull right off and slide back on?

Yeah, I am in the process of buying an entire new console piece for my 96 country and haven't figured how to take it off. Any ideas?
