Engine: 4.0L 242ci I6
It's the flux capacitor retaining rings. They need to be upgraded along with the lift.
In all honestly tho, they look like spacers for bolts to me. Basically like a real thick washer. It looks like they would slip in somewhere judging by the little grooves on the sides. I wanna say like how a bearing would work, but that's not the right word for it. Basically the bolt slides through the metal thing, and the metal thing slides into the poly or rubber block. The metal acts as a stiffener so the bolt doesn't damage the block in any way and the block doesn't flex at all with stress. Ever see those little metal rings inserted in tranny and oil pan gaskets? It reinforces the area where the bolt goes, so the gasket doesn't get messed up or moved around during installation and use.

I'm guessing bump stops or a way that the block is bolted in there. Kinda like how a body lift would work. The bolt goes through the poly block and a little reinforcer is put in so the bolt itself doesn't hit the block.
