Any1 know wat the seal is that connecfs the driv shaft to the transmission is called.

You mean the driveahaft to the t case?.... rear output seal

Its a 2wd. I thought they dont have tcases

define open....

there should be a large round "shroud" and right around where the output shaft is, there should be a black seal...if it doesnt leak oil from that area DONT MESS WITH IT

and yes...2wd jeeps dont have 4x4 parts or capabilities...

I lifted my jeep when it was 2wd and the angle put too much stress on the seal...causing it to leak! I replaced the seal twice and it finally led to the seal blowing and destroying my trans. And I then converted it to 4wd!

The seal is the rear trans seal. Any parts store should easily be able to find it for you. The only hard part on changing it is the lip that surrounds the inlet for the driveshaft.

Open as if a cup were facing the back of my jeep with the open end and the shaft goes in there

Tail shaft housing ? If so just red rtv thats what i did mines a 2wd and its very capable fyi
