Default any help would be great!!

Alright so everytime I hit a bump, no matter the size large or small, while driving i hear a thud in the rear like my shocks are bad. My shocks are literally brand new as of 5/30/10. I have had friends and I shake the jeep as much as possible and we still couldnt get it to make the sound. Anyone else ever have a problem like this before? Oh yeah, I have a 1996 Cherokee with a 3" RC lift.

I had the same noise problem off and on, but not on a modified XJ. I would hear a thump going over bumps etc. which turned out to be the transmission cross-member support. The rubber bushing inside the bracket wore out. Place a pry bar under the transfer case and move it up and down to see if the rubber inside the bracket moves. Mine moved almost 1/2 inch which was causing my exaust pipe to hit the cross member. The bracket costs @25.00, but the mounting bolts were a pain in the to get out. Snapped one even after spraying with PB lube for about 2 weeks. Had to drill and retap that one. The other side did come out without snapping.
