Don't put anti-seize on spark plugs unless the spark plug manufacture specifically says to, and then follow the recommendations for anti-seize type. Most spark plug manufactures put an anti-seize plating on the threads. Some anti-seize compounds act as an insulator and can cause weak spark and misfire problems. A spark plug grounds through the thread and seat to head interface.

There are a number of different types of anti-seize compounds. Here is a link that describes several: http://depacproducts.net/anti.html

Loctite LB8023 marine grade anti-seize is a good choice for chassis and other applications exposed to water and corrosives. It is also a high temperature anti-seize good to 2400 deg F so it would be a good choice for exhaust system fasteners.

Good to know about the high temp stuff. I'm putting long tube headers on my SS (camaro), so I will look for that stuff for the flanges and clamp bolts for the 3" tubes going to the back of the car......

IIRC, the Permatex Copper is high temp too.

Copper one is not for stainless.

Nickel is for stainless and where you can't use copper (or aluminum). You should not be getting near 2,400° American on your exhaust.

Nickel it is......
My exhaust is a mix of stainless and galvanized... I'm not seeing any of the formulas that mention galvanized.... will nickel still work?

It should.

Actually, as little as I use the stuff, if I would have known about the nickel variety 20 years ago, that is what would be sitting barely used in my box of potions rather than aluminum.

For use of anti-seize on an exhaust system ahead of a catalytic converter or oxygen sensor use it sparingly so as not to get it into the exhaust stream area. In other words keep it out of the piping and off sensors. I have seen some recommendations that metal free anti-seize is safe for such applications. Best to always research the material you are using to verify it is correct for the application.

As an FYI, silicone based RTV sealants should be avoided on exhaust systems as they can contaminate sensors and converters. Some sealants specifically say they are sensor safe.
