ok so i have read quite a bit on this site relating to my problem and unfortunatly a lot with similar problems never really posted their fix. so my issue is that my 87 cherokee pioneer with the straight 6 in it is stalling when at a stop. sometimes it will crank and crank and crank and finally start as well. in reading all the forums i have replaced and adjusted the tps replaced the iac i have given the jeep a tune up including new fuel filter plugs cap and rotor. i have also taken off the egr valve and noticed a lot of build up in the hole and cleaned that out. the egr valve doesnt seems to stick and moves. i have also taken off the throttle body and cleaned it. out of everything i have done replacing the iac i noticed the idle was a whole lot better but stalled as i came to a stop backing out of driveway. i am stumped and not sure where to go with this next. any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
I was having a stalling problem last week that was caused from a low idle after having some work done on my ac, I raised the screw on the left hand side of the throttle body where the accelerator rest's, no more stalling for me.
Did it restart right away ?
Does it have to sit for awhile?
The cps is notorious for the good ol'e stall problem, I recently changed mine out for the stall no start prob but it ended up being the camshaft sensor (pick up coil). A lot of times they'll go out together, you can run a test's on the cps & css, just search the forums for them.

Mine was doing the same thing. It would crank ,but the only way it would start was to pump the gas peddle and once it started feather the peddle to keep it running.power brake and keep feathering the peddle to keep her running for a few blocks ,then it would run fine. took it to a shop,he put it on a scope even drove it about 20 miles . injection system, fuel pump and filter , was good. He said i had a good running Jeep. Asked me where i buy my gas. i always but good fuel, no cheap ARCO. He suggested using Lucas Oil fuel injector cleaner and i have never had a problem since.
