Not getting into a posting war with you on what tire rack recommends! I run 12.50s on 8 inch rims. That is a fact! If you have had a bad experience mounting 12.50 tires on 8 inch rims that would be a fact. That tire rack recommends an 8.5 rim is a fact. The fact is an 8 inch rim works just fine and holds the bead better in an aired down situation, and usually doesn't cause as much rubbing.

 

Everybody understands the fact that u and your buddies have mounted 12.50s on 8" wide rims and proven that it's possible......no dispute here. Another fact is, TireRack is posting info that the tire manufacturer recommends and provides to TireRack. If TireRack was making the recommendation, TireRack would be also assuming liability and that ain't gonna happen. They're smarter than that.....they have lawyers just like the tire mfgs have. One last fact, then I'm dropping this thread, if and only if, an accident should happen/occur, that involves a tire/wheel, and a law suit is filed (just about guaranteed).....for the sake of the defendant/individual named in the law suit I sure hope their tire/wheel combo are correct per the mfgs recommendation. One other thing is gauranteed, they're not coming after djb383 because I didn't voice my opinion.......simply posted what the tire mfgs recommended. See ya in another thread.
