Default Another no start issue...help please

Ok so last week my jeep died on the way to work. I got it towed and after it sat all day it started but really rough and threw some check engine codes. 21 and 24. So I replaced the o2 sensor and iat sensor and all good to go. Today she died on the way home at about 6:15. I make a joke with my buddy saying by the time we get it towed home she'll start right up. He laughed I laughed lol. We made it to my apartment at 6:45 and the mother started right up lol.

I had this issue when I first bought it in august and I replaced the cps with an Eichlen brand form napa. In September I had this issue again and check for spark and there was nothing. She sat for a few hours and started right up and made the trek home with no issue. Could it be possible that the cps has an intermittent issue made caused by heat? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah I already replaced the oil, plugs, cap, rotor and refreshed the grounds and electrical connections. Battery and alternator both checked out as well.

Check it for codes.

And CPS can give intermittent issues yes. Its actually typical for it....before it fails completely. The usual advice regarding this sensor is (as with engine management sensors), to replace it with a quality one.

No codes anymore after I replaced the o2 and iat. It shows a code 12 but that's because of the battery disconnect. Could it be another issue than a cps? Coil maybe? I'm at my wits end with her lol

Try swapping the ASD relay with another one in the PDC under the hood. Without a solid signal from the CPS the PCM won't fire the ASD relay, so a failure of each one can sometimes look the same.

You ever done a ground refresh?

Would the relay be bad and need to be replaced?

If you swap them and then all works ok, than yes that could be.

Then should I wait until the next time it dies? Order a new cps from jeep?

Yeah if it dies again swap with the aux fan relay or something.

NAPA Echlin has a great reputation for other sensors, I'm not sure about CPS. I'd hold off on it for the moment.

Somewhat common for ignition coils to fail in that mode too, crap out once they get warm and start working again when they cool down.
Start heating things up with a hair dryer. Stop when the engine dies

This what I'm thinking too. Either cps or coil gets too hot and takes a dump. There isn't a way I can replicate the problem. Sometimes I'll be driving a while and it does it or it'll will do right when it reaches operating temps. And sometimes it'll start right away and others it will crank and crank and have to be parked. I'm at a loss...

I was checking around the engine bay and found out one of the plug wires is bad. Is it normal for the jeep to run on 5 cylinders? It felt like it was running like it always has been...would this be the cause of my issue?

So I replaced the plug wires today. It was running a bit better. I smacked the coz plug and it died. Thought it was the problem but couldn't replicate it. It still may be who knows. Test drive is going to happen tomorrow for the morning commute. Wish me luck

So my jeep kept up the same issues. I took it to my local mechanic and they check everything and said 90% sure it's the cps. The other would be the coil or pick up in the distributor. So i took it to my work and check the cel and it's finally throwing a code 11. I ordered a new cps from moparpartsonilne and should see it Friday. Anything else I should check on a code 11? It's never thrown the code before while it's had these issues. I know the cps can cause this but anything else?
