Rotella T oil and eventually a new lifter if that doesnt fix it.

Rotella should quiet it down and hopefully refill that lifter. You may also want to run MMO in your next oil change and see if you can clear up the tick.

Menards has the 10w-30

I think 15-40 is too heavy and I dont run it, some guys do though.

Id stick with 10w-30 I buy it at Menards or Oreilly.

Napa can get it, just ask them.

Check walmart too.

You can use delvac if you can find that too.

Oh yeah, you can also check truck stops. I used to buy10w-30 rotella for my Powerstroke at a local truck stop all the time.

I have the same issue. The push rod on the 4th cyl keeps popping out of place. I've put it back 3 times. I've talked to two different mechanics, one said change the lifters, rockers, and oil pump. The other said replace the motor... Any ideas which avenue I should take?

How can u tell the lifter(s) on a specific cyl (#2) get louder when getting into it?......presume u r inside driving. The lifters are down low inside the block. U can't loosen each rocker arm on the 4.0L....a pair of rocker arms is held in place by a "bridge". The bridge is torqued to 20 lb/ft, IIRC.

Substitute a quart of oil with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil aka MMO. Run it for 1,000 miles. Repeat. It's working on both of my Jeeps with a ticky lifter.
What brand of oil filter are you using BTW?
