another lifter noise ?
well seems like my lifters are makin noise on my #2 cy.. its faint at idle gets louder when getting into it...mellows out when just cruising down the interstate.. i seen something on here where if i take the valve cover off an start the engine an loosin each rocker arm till it starts to make noise then tighten it down till it quits to each rocker...heard this will make it quit true or not?? is it a waste of time
Rotella T oil and eventually a new lifter if that doesnt fix it.
Rotella should quiet it down and hopefully refill that lifter. You may also want to run MMO in your next oil change and see if you can clear up the tick.

I have the same issue. The push rod on the 4th cyl keeps popping out of place. I've put it back 3 times. I've talked to two different mechanics, one said change the lifters, rockers, and oil pump. The other said replace the motor... Any ideas which avenue I should take?

Substitute a quart of oil with a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil aka MMO. Run it for 1,000 miles. Repeat. It's working on both of my Jeeps with a ticky lifter.
What brand of oil filter are you using BTW?
