Another lift ? please help
OK, first off i have a 95 cherry with 3" rc lift and sye, im wanting to go higher. I was planning on ordering 3" front spacers, 3" blocks in rear, lower control arms an trac bar kit. My queation is what all else will i need? Longer brake lines? longer drive shaft? Or what any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Shawn

Longer brake lines, yes. You will also need either a transfer case lowering kit or a SYE. You will need longer sway bar links. Since your increasing your lift to 6", I'm guessing you're looking at going to a 33 or 35" tire. You may want to start thinking about re-gearing the axles soon. Make sure your track bar kit control arms you get are both adjustable so you can dial in your front axle position perfectly. You should get both upper and lower adjustable control arms.

You are correct about YJ brake lines being longer than XJ. They are about 4" longer and will work for your lift going up to 6". This is a very cool low budget fix if you have access to set of YJ brake lines.
With a SYE you should not need to shim the rear axle. I've been told that a SYE and CV forward joint on the rear driveshaft will cure all vibes no matter how high you lift an XJ.

This is all good information for me, too. I have not been able to afford the SYE for my XJ, yet. I'm still running a 1" TC drop kit and 4 degree shims in the rear. No vibes with a 6" lift and this set up. I plan on doing the SYE someday. I'll remember to hang on to my shims.

I saw an XJ that was pretty beast this last saturday, and he only had a 2" lift. After seeing it firsthand, the name of the game is not height, but traction. I would worry more about some good traction before you go up super high.
As for what he had, he had 2" in the front and 4" in the back (2" AAL, 2" spacer [air shocks])

X 2 on the armor. If you're not going to lift an XJ high enough for some decent ground clearance, you'd better armor the S*** out of it. Starting with REAL rock sliders.
