So I have been fighting the lack of heat now for a while. I have done all the flushing of the heater core and I have what I think is good water flow through it both directions. New hoses, water pump, thermostat.

The heat is just not anywhere near my buddies XJ's. One thing I did notice is that I don't seem to have alot of air coming out of the vents. The fan is definitely blowing hard and the blend door motor seems to be functioning correctly. This past summer I did notice the black foam crap stuck to the back of the center vents and still find small pieces of it every now and then.

Is it possible that I could have a chuck of that foam blocking one of the air passages somewhere? Is there any way to get in and clean all the passages out without removing the whole dash. For that matter, is there a way to inspect in there without taking the dash out.

For the record, even with the van on high, you can hardly feel any air coming out of the vents in the console to the rear seat.

Well, the centre vents in my 97 are easily accessible by removing the centre dash panel (not really sure what this is called). This just clicks on with a few clips.
Not sure if this is essentially different in your '01
