Default Another heat/blower question

Hello everyone,

New here, like for 5 mins. I have done some searching but can not find an answer to my blower question. I just purchased a 95 Cherokee and the blower motor was not working, I figured an easy fix right? Well I have verified 12V to the plug to the blower, I did notice the voltage does not change when changing the blower speed though. I have verified the blower is good by jumping it to the battery but still nothing when plugged in. Whats the deal, anyone?

Thanks!

try it on all 4-speeds, if it only works on the highest speed, then you need to replace the Blower Motor Resistoe (BMR). Easy fix, do a search on blower.

Hey Residentg,
Yep, checked all speeds, wired motor directly to battery (a new one too) and both work. I'm getting 12V to the plug with multimeter leads on pos and neg of plug. What I did discover is I only get power to the plug when the selector is on the vent position, very strange. I have read when this happens there is some melting of wires behind those switches. Just don't understand why the blower will not turn on when its getting the 12V's. Am I missing something?

Where is the blower motor located and how do you remove it?

No, its behind the windshield washer reservoir on passenger side firewall. At least on mine anyway.

passenger side firewall underhood, super easy to change! I suggest replacing the resistor at the same time. resistor is under glovebox on the heater box.
