(another) Cruise Control not working (post)
I've just spent the past hour on searching. Here are my symptoms:
Cruise control light does not come on when I press the button on the wheel. Therefore, the cruise control does not work!
Brake lights work.
Horn works.
Fuse 22 is good.
Is the cruise control light in the cluster suppose to come on with the key in the "on" position? It does not for me.

there is a brake switch on the brake pedal, you need to get way underneath to see it, it might be bad or need adjustment.
also, there is a possibility your servo/controller is kaput.
last but not least, (which happened to be my problem,,,,,the switch itself.
for real.
good luck sir

Just checked the brake switch. It turns the tail lights on/off. Seems to be adjusted correctly.
I bench tested the servo, and it actuates.
I pulled the wheel and clock spring. I'll go to the u-pull-it tomorrow and try to find a replacement clock spring and wheel switches. Probably pull a servo, just for kicks.
I'll let ya'll know what it turned out to be. Just for my own sanity.. I'm not missing another little fuse that could be the culprit, right?

Don't know if this will help you at all, but my cruise control went out all of a sudden a couple of days ago on my '91 Limited, along with the vents not opening or transitioning when I turned on the AC and heater, etc...
It turns out it was a disconnected vacuum line at the very rear right side of the intake manifold. I'd check it out if I were you.

Thanks for the input benh088. The 97-01 Cherokees are a different monster than the 96 down. In fact, I hear parts of the 97-98 are different from the 99-01. (switch on steering wheel)
I pulled a couple clock springs, some switches and a servo this morning. I'll swap them out one at a time and see how it goes.

i have the exact same problem on my '99, good fuse, good servo, new adjusted brake light switch....methinks it's the clock spring even tho horn works and no airbag light staying on after initial flash...
