i checked the code at work today. i dont remember the codes exactly it was p030something but it was random misfire in cyl 2,3, and 4. cleared the code and drove it home tonight. seems to be fine im pretty confused. any thoughts?

P0300? That's a multiple cylinder misfire...
The codes are representative of their corresponding cylinder that is misfiring
Example: P0301 is cylinder #1, P0302 is cylinder #2, etc.

That's a coil on plug set up right? I'd check for moisture around the coils...

thats what i was thinking. thanks. its weird though because last night when it happened it was dry and the engine was hot. today when i started it the engine was cold and it was pouring out and it was fine. go figure

hot to cold or vice versa can produce condensation, not to mention if it was raining, the relative humidity is 100%

Is it throwing the multiple misfire code, or one specific one?

Check to make sure the wire has a good connection to the plug on each. A lil dielectric grease won't hurt. Check the injector harness to make sure that's on good too...

should/can i put some dielectric grease on the coil pack side as well as on the plug side. would that help with moisture. im pretty sure it threw 4 codes. P0300, P0302, P0303, P0304. thanks so much, i really appreciate all your help and quick responses

No prob... Use it on both sides, it won't hurt. I coat the living s*** out of every electrical connection I work on...

ok... ill get some tom and try coating all my wires. that should kep moisture out
