another axle question

just asked about what axle I had the other day,found out it was a 8.25 from a grand cherokee with disc brakes.my other question is the guy I bought jeep from changed axles,but didn't hookup emergency cables,and didn't have the parts to hook it up,what parts would I need from grand cherokee,still have some of the cables under jeep 97 sport.

a grand cherokee is about 4" longer wheel base that an xj,I read where one person used his xj cables,I am going to be putting disc brakes on my 44 this month so hopefully I have what I need to.
