And the link I posted for amp is the one you should buy, and the sub is really up to you, I do like the pioneer however, what kind of music do you listen to that would help out a bit too.

I listen to symphonic female metal bands. Yeah i know its weird. Immagine metalica with ***** and lots of violins and flutes and huge bass drums and you have my music.

For fast double pedal beats you will want 10 inch subs x2, and component speakers so you can have some actual bass that keeps up with the beat but you still have the highs your needing.

I picked up some sony xplodes at wally world for the components. They do just fine. Cover mid range bass very well. highs are a bit lacking but the voices are crystal clear.

Eh...why 10 inch? I mean will it still be capable of handling deep deep nut crushing bass into the 10-25hz range?

First: Well you would need a box custom designed to power into the 10-25hz rating and no prebuilt box will do that for you period.

the normal area for hertz for subs is 30-40, and that is a custom box.

More realistically for a prefab is like 45-70 hz, thats why I said build your own box, its not hard and takes about two days max.

And the reason for 10's is because it has a smaller surface area so it takes less time for the speaker to travel back and forth unless you are using speaker with a very large magnet on it, which you would not be. Hence the 10 inch.

Second: This is why you don't need a cap

http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/ac...capacitor.html

Also just because it seems like a really good deal on eBay doesn't always means it's not, I have gone through enough amps to tell you if you haven't ever heard of it most like you won't be able to ever hear from their customer service department again either when it breaks.

Save your cash until you can afford something that will last and sound good, trust me it will be worth the wait and you won't have hundreds of dollars of useless metal hanging out in your room.

Or another good amp that is going to be dropping in price is the hifonics brand for the 2010 gear. Found at woofersetc.com
No. You can measure voltage, but without knowing what impedance the amp is seeing you really don't have a way to calculate power.
I think the best diy way would be to put a clamp meter on the speaker wire and a volt meter on the amp's speaker outs, but even then there's no way to set the amp at the onset of clipping which is where you'd get your peak power measurement.

Like I stated the audiopipe is the best amp new under 200 IMO.
Both are garbage.

No. That is not the proper use of a stiffening capacitor. If you had 1000wrms running you would NEED a new batt/alt setup.

Still pulls from battery, that just lessens the initial draw for about .02 seconds.

Good setup. I drive a SAZ4500D hooked to a 12" HCCA.

Truth. 10" Will have a faster surround response time, thus a crisper sounding quick bass,

Im not going to buy hastily. Ill wait and get more money and get something that wont need to be upgraded. I wont be able to make a custom tuned box. Maybe if you know a company that makes tuned boxes thatd help.

I will go with 10's ive got multiple people not on here that are agreeing that 10's are the way to go for my listening preference. Ball bashing bass that isnt muddy and jumbled together. Ive also been told to look for speakers with a high sensitivity. I know myself from experience that a higher db sensitivity is louder and more enjoyable.

What makes bandpass sound like crap if it is such a popular thing? is it just that it is visually pleasing over the standard mdf and carpeting sealed enclosures?

Thank you ont he comment about the caps. Was a very interesting read. And confusing as to why this isnt common sense among the populace and why anyone bothers to make them at all.

^^ Any system that only need 8 gauge will NOT need a separate battery. Only time you would need one is for a install that requires 1-00 gauge. Just my honest oppinion... If you were really that worried about it it would be easier and lest costly just to buy a Capacitor, but still any system that only need 8awg shouldnt need one. just make sure your battery is in good shape, maby even go with one that has i higher cold crank rating.

Capacitors are useless and the type of battery i have is the kind that will leak the gasses everywhere. I didnt realize that. So i wouldnt want to put it inside of the jeep. Ive just had issues in general and didnt want to strain the battery any extra now that i have gotten it stable. Seems like the only reasonable thing to do would be to get a higher output alternator if im that concerned. Right now though im saving money and planning for the audio system upgrade.

Listen to diesel and myself, We are the only ones who have actually shown any sort of proof in this thread with you.

Bandpass box's don't necessarily sound bad, it just you would have to have a custom designed box in order for it to have the sound reflect off of the material, If it was me I would look on craigslist or something like that for your area and find a used prefab box for cheap, until you want to build your own box.

Hell the first box I had done I went to a local Highschool and paid the woodworking teacher 20 bucks and bought the materials and it lasted for a very long time and it sounded very crisp.

Also pbxtreme makes awesome component speakers and they are actually not too expensive either, they can be had for around 90 or so for the set.
