Alarm will not turn off

Default Alarm will not turn off
Hi
I need a bit of help from you guys. just brought a 2001 Grand Cherrokee 2.1 TD and had to put on a new battery but every time I connect the battery the alarm starts to sound and I am unable to turn it off with the key fob hope you can help.

Did you try connecting the battery with the key in the ignition? Try it with the key in the "ON" position and see if it still goes off.

Hook the battery up and start the engine (or just turn the key forward). The alarm should stop. If it doesn't, THEN you have a problem.
