Does anyone happen to know at what speed the airbags arm for deployment on a 98 XJ? I know most GM's disable the accelerometer to thr airbags below 15 mph or so, but I have no clue what standard Chrysler used on these things...

There are no wires or anything that attaches the airbag to the vehicle, at least on 96's and earlier. Its a stand alone unit. To arm or disarm the air bag theres a 8mm bolt on top of the steering wheel under a plastic cover that goes into the back of the airbag. Thats about it.
Might be alittle different on 97+ OBDII systems. 96 is OBDII but everything is more like OBDI jeeps
