i want to put a intake on. not the expensive one just a piece of pipe and a filter. well my question is i have heard they make a big sucking sound can you hear this when the hood is down

You won't hear the "sucking" sound at all inside the XJ unless you are really getting on it. Then it sounds VERY cool.

fab up a heat shield for around the filter or you'll just be sucking hot air in

I have the airaid on mine and it makes a huge sucking noise but you cant hear it inside and with the hood down its still not very noticeable.

I dont get a sucking sound but i do get a sqeak around 2100 RPMs I like it and everyone who rides with me thinks it sounds cool

has anybody put a bored out tb on if so do u lose much mpg and does it gain much power

haha yeah just something to keep from hackin up my arms on the metal i tried hose but it didnt work
