Doesn't this nose up/down burping thing depend on which cooling system u have, closed vs open?

Default NO HEAT!

Hey guys!, new to the forums. I agree with the forget the T. They work but why add somthing to break? Do not park down hill if you want to get the air out lol. The way the jeep system is for some reason it takes a couple times to get it to work because the air always get suck in the HC and valve system. Park nose up, I drove up onto a parking block, take the cap off the radiator, turn heat on high and squeeze the hoses to the HC. A good way to check if its air in the HC is if one or both hoses are cold to touch when truck is hot and after squeezing and getting the front end up both hoses with get hot almost too hot to keep squeezing. I used a push pump from a 55 gal drum to fill my cooling system and it caused alot of air in the system. It took a few times to work.

Depends on what year XJ......'97 up don't have a heater control valve and '90 down don't have a rad cap. Letting it idle with the rad/bottle cap off 'til the motor is up to operating temp is the quickest/easiest way to burp most of the air. It may take a couple of days/heat cycles to get the last bit out. That's why it's very important to raise the hood for the next several days (check coolant level) any time the cooling system has been drained/re-filled.
