Default Air Conditioner Problem

Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a conundrum, my A/C will not cycle, however, there IS power going to it, I understand that the compressor may have a fail safe switch to keep it from cycling when the freyon is low to prevent any damage, what kinds of things can I try to get it charged and ready for the rest of summer? Appreciate any and all help

First thing you need to do is verify that you do have enough freon. You are correct about the fail safe. It won't let the compressor cycle if the pressure is to low.

Nor wilol it let the compressor operate if the pressure is too high.

I'm certain in saying I have very little to no freyon in the compressor, so now I have to ask, is there anyway I can jump start it with the bottle of freyon hooked up so I can charge it?

Should come on it self when filling once minimum pressure reached ac on high fan and coldest setting motor running.

Just a thought: If your Freon is completely discharged there's a possibility that the lube in the system is also gone. If you run the compressor for any length of time with no Freon/lubricant in the system it may shell out the compressor.

That being said, if your Freon pressure is that low the compressor clutch won't engage you can jumper the Low Pressure Cycling Switch body harness connector to trick the PCM in to thinking the system has pressure. With the connector detached jump the two pin cavities in the connector using a small gauge wire or a small paperclip. Be careful not to shove the paperclip into the pin cavities if the clip is too large, it will enlarge the cavity connectors to the point they won't hold their pins. Hammer the clip wires flat so they enter the cavities snugly.

Hook up your servicing tool to the low pressure port.

Set the AC controls set to recirculation, high fan, coldest setting, and motor running like freegdr said.

As soon as you start your truck the clutch should engage, now you can service the Freon.

Here's a pic of jumping the swictch connector.

Here's pressure/temp chart to go by. You'll be looking at the Ambient Air Temperature and the Evaporator Inlet Pressure at Charge Port. Do not over service the system.

Alright so I did exactly as you guys told me to, and I'm still getting nothing from the compressor, any other things I should consider? I can manually turn the clutch on the front with my hand so I don't thinks its seized, any other thing or things it may be?
