OK I have searched and read a few mixed reviews. If the air bag light stays on. Does it kill the gauges? Mine is on and none of my gauges work. Speedo, odo.,tach etc. Is this something I could check or is it only done by the dealer? Thanks..

 

No, the airbag light on does not kill the gauges, they are completely seperate systems. If the airbag light is on you have a problem with one of your bags. Mine and my son's XJ both have had the airbag light on steady and the gauges still function.

 

try pushing your gauges in on all 4 corners. If the airbag light goes off and you stuff starts to work again then it's the connection to your gauges. might have to take em out and clean the connectors. I had to do it, and also put a shim in there to snug up the connection.

 

I have had the gauges out several times and cleaned the contacts. I changed the cluster from the idiot lights to a cluster with gauges and still nothing works. Is there a wire harness I could check, a plug that needs cleaning? I would hate to take it to a dealer..
