AH crap, Check engine light
ok, so a few weeks ago, when id start up my heep, it would make a loud (really loud) wining noise. after a little while (im guessing once it got warm) it would stop. so after about a week of hearing this, my CEL came on. it still runs fine and everything. its not blinking or anything either. im thinking maybe it has to do with air conditioning? (which works fine kinda). or could it be a vaccum line or something.
i was just wondering because i dont want to go buy a code scanner when you guys could just tell me flat out( if its a common problem).
thankyou!

you know whats awesome, after reading the link that ol blue gave me, it said it could be due to a loose gas cap. went and checked that and shbang! there's my damn problem. and the squeeling noise doesnt do it now, it only did it when it was at least 100 degrees outside

its retarded. they should make a gas cap light for that. instead, they make you freak over the engine light and have people take it into dealerships or mechanics and spend money... ugh

Or just disconnect your battery for a half hour and then reconnect. If it doesn't come back on it wasn't important. If it does, take it to Autozone where it can be scanned for free...
