Aftermarket Door And Hatch Seals for '97 to '01 XJ
So when I was using that 3 in One stuff on my seals I took a close look at them.
Noticed my hatch seal was a little ripped at the bottom.
Door seals were little cracked but think they are OK.
But it got me thinking about them.
The hatch seal is still available from Mopar but runs about $100.
Door seals on the other hand seem to be N/A.
When they were ran about $100 each too.
One guy here used aftermarket door seals in his first build. I think Crowns.
Was not thrilled with them and went for Mopar ones on his second build.
So I am wondering what you guys have been using for the '97 and up?
And what did you think of them?
I thought someone mentioned the weatherstripping fits both pre 96 and 97+?
I just purchased the master seal kit from Team Cherokee not too long ago, pricey at about $450 but has just about every seal on my Jeep.
No idea what brand they are though. I thought they had a set with just weatherstripping but I don't see it now.

Not that I am aware of.
When you look at the aftermarket seals, both doors and hatch, best I can tell they are broken down into the 2 body styles.
'96 and down and '97 and up.
I tried one of the Fairchild door seals to see if they would work and the door wouldn’t close. I did ended up finding the mopar front door seals. I found the best price at a Chrysler dealer in Florida. I’ll find the info and price and post it for you. I’m thinking they were $116 each.
The Fairchild was a cut to fit and didn’t have the connecting piece of seal at the bottom like the factory seals. Physically they looked the same. The shape of the seal atleast. The mopar ones have the holes you were describing and do still require some breaking in. A lot of it has to do with the cabin being so air tight now.

Pretty much the only place I can find what I think is a real Mopar one is here:
At all the online Mopar places they are saying discontinued. I have not checked with my local dealership yet though.
And I have heard where people to complain about not being able to close the doors after installing aftermarket ones.
Thinking the Fairchild ones like you tried.
I did find this brand:
It appears they are discontinued. I got my 2 fronts in the first week of March 2020. If the date on the sticker is the production date it is 8/22/2019. I don’t have much faith in Morris. I dealt with them on my Logan’s rear bumper. It had nothing to do with Logan’s tho. Morris was quite a bit cheaper than direct from Logan’s. You may want to call them first because I doubt they can get it (or have it in stock) but I could be wrong. I did find this on EBay tho. No experience with PPR, but that seal piece I was referring to is in the pic. It Is glued but can be removed if you go aftermarket and they are missing.
Maybe I missed that one or saw it and was hoping to find for the $104 price they used to cost from the dealership.
Plus thinking they only have the one.
Well the only good thing is I don't really think I need them.
Also sorry I did not grab a couple a few years back though. LOL.
I’m going to start doing the same thing you do, acquiring parts I know I’ll need in the future. I have 114,000 now so I know what’s coming. I’ve been keeping an eye out for a rust free 2wd body in case I get into an accident or roll it. I haven’t even needed a CPS yet. I guess I should buy a mopar cps now and hang on to it. It seems things are getting discontinued at a rapid pace.
