Thumbs up Aftermarket Cruise Control?

Hey everyone,

I've been doing quite a bit of searching as to how I can get cruise control on my 2001 sport. So far, it seems as if I've got two options.

1) Find components from a MY Jeep and retrofit the steering wheel to accommodate the buttons.

2) Buy an actual aftermarket setup and install.

Option one as I've read, is a bit more labor intensive as the entire wheel must be taken off and airbag and other components must be removed to completely install the cruise. Considering I am new to Cherokees, I can't honestly say that I would be too comfortable doing all this with my lack of experience.

Option two sounds a bit better and as I've read, a popular choice was the Audiovox ccs-100.
This This
aftermarket kit was a small panel unlike another other kid I have seen before. This kit appeared to be the one I wanted until I realized it was no longer being sol nor can I find it for sale anywhere on the net! I'm trying to stay away from the levers and such that are installed directly into the steering column.

With that being said, does anyone around here have any alternatives?!

Last attempt.

I've got some big long hauls ahead of me and cruise control would make my life exponentially more easy.

This was posted by someone under the review section of the Audiovox CCS100 control on Amazon...

Audiovox has stated the following:

"The factory that manufactured these for us went out of business and we could
not find a replacement. This is no longer in production and parts are no longer
available."

Thank you for using Audiovox.

They do have another one listed by Audiovox....don't know how similar it is though..

What, you don't like driving for 12 hours, then walking like House when you get there?

Default Did you find a solution to the aftermarket Cruise?

I just bought a used 2001 Sport and was looking to install cruise control on it. We're you able to find a good solution? Any help you can give would be great. Thanks!
