i put in new drive shaft and slowly tested in around parking lot in 4Hi and 4Lo. drove about 5 mins. when i parked, i noticed a pretty serious coolant leak coming from front passenger area of engine bay. never leaked before. 4 wheel drive triggered something..... help? im in a flash flood warning at the moment so, im gathering as much info as possible...

That area has the coolant reservoir(and hose from top of radiator to it),radiator drain plug at bottom of radiator, top radiator hose w/clamp,and of course the radiator itself. Check them out.

Probably an unfortunate coincidence. I just put a new timing belt and other belts on my car after fixing an oil leak, and now my radiator is leaking!
Oh, and you should never test your 4x4 in a parking lot!
