Well 2 now.

My '97 XJ has been plagued with intermittent, random ABS issues, usually the right, front sensor (although they've all been replaces over the years)

Anyway, the warning light's been back on for a couple of weeks, prime suspect had moved again - & broken the locating peg. Quick fix with a star washer & a feeler gauge worked well enough in sense that it's not moved again but it didn't fix the light, nor did swapping in the one from my '99, fitting a new one & then one to the other side.

Then I thought I remembered on a previous occasion, it was either the relay or fuse. So, today, I swapped the relay with another: nothing, checked the fuse & that's OK, so I'm back where I started - except I'm. actually worse off, because when I turned the key to see if the light'd go out, I noticed all the gauges have stopped working. Now that can't be coincidence - but what possible connection can there be? Curiously, the gauges not working doesn't trigger the "check gauges" light.

I'm out of ideas (& patience, simply because there is more important work in hand) so any help will be much appreciated.
