Default Adjusting power steering pulley on I6 4L?

How do i adjust the power steering pulley so it sits out a little more (as in towards the front of the vehicle.)? Mine is sitting too far back and it's making the belt rub.

I wasnt aware that you could adjust the pulley. If your belt is rubbing, it could be that it is streched or the belt isnt tight enough. I am pretty sure that you should not be able to adjust that. Good Luck!!

It's rubbing on the firewall side of the belt.

This would be an effect of the belt being too loose?

It's rubbing on the back side, in relation to the vehicle.

So that would make it rub on the back of the belt, on the engine side?

I'll tighten it and see what happens.

Yes, if it is that problem, the pulley would be pressed onto the shaft more, going towards the firewall...

So by tightening it, I'll move it towards the radiator?

No, the pulley slides toward the firewall to be fully seated. Therefore by if not fully seated, the back side of the belt (engine side) would ake the abuse of the pulleys not being in line with each other...
Bad news is it's a special tool to do it, so if you bought it with the pulley attached, it's a reman plant F-U... If the store swapped them, you need to belittle them and have someone instruct them on how to do it...

Wait...I got an update on how to try and seat it yourself....

Find a long bolt (about 3" or more, fully threaded. You can use all-thread too.) that will thread inside the p/s pump shaft.

Then thread a nut, a socket (if needed to make up space) and some washers (between the nut & pulley. Each side of the socket if you're using one)

Then take a wrench and hold the bolt, wile you use another wrench to tighten the nut on the bolt, so it is pushing against the pulley...

I can scan a pic of what I'm talking about if you need one...
