Default Adjustable Trac Bar ?

Getting ready to order a 3.5" Lift.
Do I need an Adjustable Trac Bar ?
If so which one ?
Why does RC and Rusty's Trac Bars come with a drop Bracket and IRO and RE does not ?
Why the difference ?

You don't NEED one but your axle will be a bit off center and there is the poss of death wobble or vibs. RC offers a nice adj one for about 100bucks. I have a drop bracket on mine but plan on putting in an adj one, altho I have no DW and my axle is straight. Drop brackets can put your track bar at odd angles and create weird leverage situations where your frame side bolt hole can get out of wack.

There are two basic methods to getting your front axle centered again once you lift. 3.5"lift will bring your axle assembly to the drivers sidea little. Theres the method of redrilling the hole or relocating it using a plate welded to the axle. The theres the adjustable track bar which you can lengthen and shorten in order to align the axle assembly with the rig. Without adjusting the track bar by either way will leave your tires in a different track, position if you will, from the track that the rear wheels take.

Ill leave the question of the difference of the RE and RC trackbars to someone who has either because I havent yet replaced mine..

That would work fine. I'm sure other people have brand preferences that might be able to give you some more options.

do not use any of the ones from iron rock offroad, i've gotten one recently and compared it to one from rustys offroad and was deeply sadened.. they are week and break at the joint very easily, i've had 3 friends using them have to replace the flex-joint after some wheeling becasue the damn thing snapped.. iron rock offroad is just a distributor from Rough Country... the new one they've released looks fairly nice but i couldn't tell you anything about it...

but like the other have said b4, at 3.5" you don't really need an adj track bar, but if you decide to get one, deffinitely go somewhere else besides RC's "ball joint" style end

Wow, this is a first, I have been reading just the opposite.
IRO is definatley not selling for RC, RC uses Dom Tubing
and IRO uses Solid Steel.
Their Brackets are totaly different as well.
Any Pics of these breaks ?

Rusty's has been making the drop bracket and shear end forever. They don't recommend it unles you are lifting higher than their 4.5 inch lift kit. Rough Country just released their new double sher track bar and dropped mount. I'm quite sure IRO and RE will have one out soon, too, to keep competition.

Does a drop bracket for the double shear put more stress on the Frame ?

RE has had their HD replacement (the Double Shear as everyone is calling it) on the market for at least 8-10 years now.

Did you hear that the new Wranglers have coil springs ????? Sacrilegious !!

Yes and no.

By nature of the longer bracket ... there are more forces being put on the frame rail where the bracket attaches.

On the other hand, the aftermarket brackets tend to be a bit wider and sturdier, which spreads the stresses out over a greater area. I've yet to see any failures related to this other than people who FURTHER extend the brackets, rather than properly relocate the axle end (from extreme lift).

I don't think these brackets will do you much good for your setup. Not only are they more costly .... but you will have to spend a little extra time & money making sure that the draglink continues to remain parallel to the track bar. If not ... bumpsteer will occur.

Is it a huge expense? No ... but for someone trying to keep the costs as humanly low as possible, it's an extra thing you have to buy and muck with.
