Default Adding 2" of lift, same t-case drop??

Hey guys, I have a 4.5" lift with a 1" t-case drop now, I'll eventually get a SYE but for now since I need new tires, will the drop kit I have still work?

How much does a good SYE kit cost? I would like to do the 4.5 Zone lift with 32" tires but am operating on a bit of a budget. Will it hurt my rig in the long run to just use a t-case drop? Sorry for hte hijack, it seems that we can both get answers out of thesame post.

For a SYE and driveshaft it'll be around 500.00

Ok, how about another super newb question. What exactly does it do? Why would you need a t-case drop and SYE? Isn't the t-case drop to keep the driveline angles from being too steep?

You don't need both, SYE kits aren't cheap so a lot of people use t-case drops. I will eventually get the SYE but since I need new tires and wanna go up a couple more inches I was wanting to hear from others if the typical 1" drop spacers will work at 6.5"

Think of it this way..

With a 6.5" lift and 1" TC drop you essentially have a 5.5" lift. Is a 5.5" lift in need of an SYE.. you bet it is.

An SYE will convert the TC rear output to a fixed bolt on design.. vs a slip yoke. The driveshaft will now have three ujoints vs the original two.. helping to ease the vibe associated with the operating angle.

Go check out Tom Woods website.. he's got tech there with pics that help explain better than i have time to.

There is no reason to use a TC drop with an SYE.
