Any reason I can't do this without removing the entire spring? Sure seems like it would be a lot less work by just dropping the axle on each side as I go and not taking the leaf spring off.

Clamp the spring to gether with c-clamps and drop axel down. Remove the center bolt and spring clamps, then slowly release the c-clamps. Reverse to re-assemble.

I just did an add-a-leaf yesturday. you only need to remove the leafs if you plan on torching the straps. they think youll get the gas tank or something. i used C-Clamps. Make sure you blast that eye pin with wd40 or what ever you have. I had to work it for an hour with a hack saw cause it wouldnt budge.
also easier to drop the axle with shocks disconected. I may sound dumb to you, but i had to figure it out. also i dont know what brand your using, but my rough country add a leaf added 3 inches instead of the 2inches it said it would. weird suprise, now i HAVE to level it out.
