From what i gather any Dakota springs will work, as long as you are using the XJ main leaf and then bolting up the dakota springs to it. you will need to trim them down and cut the eyes off and all that but im pretty sure they should work.

feel free to correct me if i am mistaken.

try to think of it like this... a chain is only as strong as its weakest link...if you put an AAL in a pack of leaves that is slightly sagging then you are relying completely on the AAL to support the weight of the whole Jeep. of course any leaf pack will sag but if you are putting all te weight on one little leaf it is bound to flatten out more rapidly.

Hope this breaks it down a little better.

I have installed 6 or 7 lifts on a variety of rigs. It is easier than you think. Just call up some buddys and have some fun. It will be worth the cash you save. Just remember to re-tighten everything after a 100 miles or so.

In all reality. Just buy a new leaf pack. not only will you have a better quality rig. You will have a better ride. Plus its all new stuff. If our looking for new leafs and are on a budget, you can buy a 3.5" leaf set from rustys for like 230 last time I saw. You will be much more happier waiting and saving up for a new leaf. You be happy with the quality of a new leaf. Putting different parts from diff vehicles or buying an AAL may save you a few bucks here ad there but in the long run you will end up spending more money to replace the parts. I learned a long time ago. cheap is cheap....

This is an excellent write up with lots of pics. If this link doesn't work PM me as I have a copy saved on my hard drive. I plan on doing this as soon as it quits snowing every damn weekend. All I have to work in is a gravel driveway. Sucks.
