sorry! Misunderstood. All the tire rubber from my job must be getting to my head! Haha. So just to verify, this is the correct part # for the tilt column ignition switch?http://m.oreillyauto.com/h5/r/oap/si...tch&reset=true I found the same exact one on amazon for $20 and with free one day shipping thanks to Prime but it says it isn't for the tilt column. Is there even a difference between a tilt and no-tilt column ignition switch?

D1404B is the part number I found. I just want to make sure it's the right part number for a tilt column.

Never mind about the part number. My mechanic had an ignition switch he pulled from a tilt column yj (which should fit the XJ tilt column as well) so I'll give that a shot.

Quote: Isn't there some adjustment required for that thar new switch Pete?
Quote: 2 separate things. Tumbler and ignition switch.
Quote: Liam, I gather the switch can be slid up and down on the column a little.

Not your fault at all Liem. Sometimes trien to help with this stuff is like trien to tie your shoes with chopsticks! (I'd asked about the adjustment because I myself have not done it, just saw it posted.) Maybe you could report a yes or no when you install yours.

I'm having same problem.
My accessory stuff stopped working when I tried to fix my horn.

My main concern is the turn signals. The wipers I'm not too worried about, as it dont rain much in central AZ.

But Ive replaced bulbs, flashers, turn signal switch, and ignition switch, and fixed burned up brown wire.
I'm at a loss on this.

Haha I will update this thread with my results after installing the replacement ign switch. I also purchased new front brake hardware and front and rear bump stops so I'm going to make a day of "Jeep fixing". Also going to be doing a few of Cruiser Tips.

And about the adjustment, my mechanic pointed it out to me on the new switch when I met with him. The 2 holes for bolting the switch to the column are extended so you can slide the switch about 2-3 cm up and down the column. I will post a pic in a little bit.

My rear diff just took about a whole quart, put maybe 1/2 a tube of grease in 9 Zirks Gettn' ready for travel myself. Front brake hardware? The flex line? Btw you can test if a flex line is gonna blow parked in your driveway. Waiting for an emergency stop with lives on the line isn't necessary! (Just stomp real hard parked, with the engine running) Ask me how I learned that one!

No power inside cabin with key in off position
Thank you all so much for this thread. I have an 89 Cherokee.
There was one day while driving I smelled a burning electrical odor, but no secondary symptoms. The next day I noticed no power inside the cabin unless the key is turned forward in the on/run position. No radio, lights, etc...
I hope the ignition switch is the culprit.
