HELP { PLEASE READ} I dont have any pressure at all on my ac compressor because i recently changed the compressor from a 96 Cherokee too a 2000. The clutch locked up in the 2000 so i used what i knew to be a good one out of the 96 parts jeep.i own I road it last summer every day it worked fine. BUT I had to change out the back because the lines went in different. the 96 goes in the main back of the comp and the 2000 on the top. So i changed them out. Now i cant get it to take freon.I lost all freon and oil i assume when i did that. It took the oil. i put roughly 4 oz.. I took a volt multi meter and cked for volts on my 2 wires on my compressor. it reads 0.00 volts on the hot, wire coming from the coil and 0.00 volts on the ground wire. . Even when the ac compressor is not plugged up .BUT when i remove the neg. terminal I then i get a 12 volt plus reading but i get 12 volt reading also on the what should be a ground coming off the compressor. . Also both ac wires shows to have power with a test light. Also Both wires on the low side pressure switch. Both inserts show to have power. If i try to bridge the cycle switch from there it will blow the big 20 amp ac fuse. Same thing if i try to bridge it over from the ac relay in the under hood fuse box it will Blow the big fuse. However If i unhook the High side switch i then get 1 insert hot and the other not on the low side switch with the test light . I then try to bridge it over and it dont blow the fuse but it dont cycle the clutch either. The high side switch shows with test light has 4 inserts./wires going in plug and it shows 3 to have power and 1 not to have power in the inserts/switch but if u trace the wire that goes up in the plug it shows to have power b4 it goes in the plug but none when testing that insert in the plug. Also i show no power on the blue wire with ac plug coming off .the wiring harness also shows no volts until i unhook the neg terminal but then its not 12 volts. I thought that should have 12 volts and give the ac power but its the other way it only is active when i plug the ac up. The ac gives it power. Any sorry for such a long message but i tried to explain it so u would and could understand where im at with it. 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. All Hep appreciated.
