Hello, I've been rebuilding the ac in my xj and I've come up with a problem. The new hose I got to connect the expansion valve to the drier won't connect with the drier. I lost the old hose. What I need to know is does the hose connect straight to the drier or is there anything between it and the drier. Thanks

There is a check valve that is put in there during manufacturing. It has no use except it goes between the hose and the drier. It is 2 pieces and made of brass. I think that might be your problem. If you don't have it then a trip to Home Depot and getting an adapter fitting should help. If it is there then you have a later year hose. If it is there then take it apart and throw away the two valve pieces with the O rings. They are useless and can jam causing great difficulty when it comes to charging the system. BTW I always use www.jeepair.com for my jeep a/c parts. They can really help you get the correct parts.

Thanks, so if I can't find a fitting at home depot that works, then i'll get with jeep air, they're who I got the hose from and see if they can get me what I need.
