Default AC PROBLEMS

Ok guys I'm about ready to give up on the old AC system in my 01 sport. Have any of you guys used the Cliplight Super Seal? 98% of the reviews online appear to be positive, but I thought I'd get some expert advice from you guys. :P

Basically long story short when I first got it I noticed I got kinda hot quick. When I refilled it the clutch kicked off and on prolly every 8 seconds. I figured it didn't have enough oz in it so I got more. I put two or three cans in the last time and it was empty a few days after. Whenever I first bought the xj it would hold freon for ab a month so I wasn't too upset at the time. When it finally stopped holding pressure I took it to tuffy mechanics and they did a complete vacuum and refill. That did not good. SAme thing! I don't see any oil on the lines, and everything seems to work great when it has some freon in it other than constant kick on and off.

Could be hole in condenser or evaporator.

start with a UV dye in the Freon that way you can see where it is leaking from

Ok, been a while since i been here, (workin overseas n such),,,,,

you have an '01? you have r-134 an pretty sure...this stuff seems to find leaks faster n Kardashian gets laid. anyway.........

here is what i have done,,,(and am going to do to rid this problem in my jeep once n for all).

Done:
inspected all the components of the ac system (see below)
replaced condenser (hairline crack).

Gonna do:

replace SUCTION hose (corroded all to hell)
replace LINE hose (same)
replace ACUMMULATOR/DRIER (just cause I wanna and over 250,000miles)
replace TXR valve. (just cause.......etc etc)
replace all o-rings. (have to anyway)
fill and discharge system twice. (pricey,, but oooooo- so - cool!!! when done)
MAYBE: replace compressor w/rebuilt compressor (only $259.00 rockauto)

that will surely fix yer problems matey!

Best-o-luck to ya!

Take it a shop thats worth a damn, We have dye, and a sniffer, can find any leak. The bad news is theres a good chance it is your evaporater. Cheap part PIA to get to.
