ac pressure crazy

i went to go recharge system on my cherokee and connected it i was getting like 70 psi till the ac clutch comes on down to 20psi any ideas

Low and high pressures will be equalized until the compressor kicks on (if the system hasn't been running).

i let run for a hour drive and still doing it not throwing out cold air
